Hey All,
This week I just wanted to share some dreams that I have with you… Malala Yousafzai once said, “Let us make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow's reality.” Growing up in a divorced household gave me a perspective about life and helped me realize the things I both did and did not want to become. It allowed me to develop dreams for my own future by cultivating the virtues of empathy, contemplation, integrity and stewardship. I want to help instill these dreams in future generations. I dream of a Utopian world where everyone treats each other with kindness and respect. When I leave this world, I want my dreams and aspirations to become the reality for future generations. Empathy is something that I would like to be remembered using and encouraging others to use. Through empathy and treating each other the way we want to be treated great things can really occur. Empathy is a part of life that can help people work with one another and solve problems through creative solutions. I always ask myself how would I like to be treated in a given situation, or more importantly, would I like my children to be treated this way? My dream is that today’s youth can display empathy towards others in a morally corrupt world. Making decisions that are morally correct and sound is another quality I would like to project to future generations. I believe we should contemplate different issues, while always considering how it could affect all parties involved. I want to be remembered as a person who doesn’t necessarily know all the answers, but will work hard enough to help find them. My dream is to teach the next generation how to contemplate different issues and develop a morally sound decision. Whether it’s being a role model for children or setting an example for colleagues and other adults, being a role model is something that I have honored throughout my life. Part of being a role model is doing the right thing at all times. I strive to be consistent with a positive attitude toward others and always doing the right thing. Instilling this notion of integrity with the future generation has always been a hope of mine. If we can teach children how to do the right thing, hopefully they will. With this stated, it’s important to remember that we all make mistakes, but we strive to do the right thing even when no one else is around. Putting students first is something that I have always strived for, even if that means I have to do more work. If I can lead by example and show students this notion that putting others first, I will help set an example of a very important quality. Another dream can become a reality if we can create a generation of people who are good stewards. After all, if we can’t treat each other with respect how will we be able to live with one another and create solutions for tomorrow’s problems? I realize that we don’t live in a Utopian world where everything is perfect. If we don’t dream big and instill our values in future generations, we may never improve the world in which we live. Just like you, I dream of creating a better world for future generations to inherit. What are your dreams?
